Excellent idea! It will make finding what we want locally much easier.

Hi All  :)

Just to introduce myself to the members of this forum, I'm Fran and I opened the Fancy Dress shop by the arches, 'Fancy Dress Fanatics' back in July. So I'm pretty new Trader-Wise too!

The company is owned by me, and my fiance Simon is also a Director. We have fancy dress stuff for sale and for hire. The Hire costumes being the specialty. They're mostly high quality theatrical stuff and the collection is growing constantly.

I started this business following a career in Marketing (mostly digital stuff for marketing agencies and the like, working with big brands like Coca Cola, Betfair, Orange etc). I always wanted to own my own business and Fancy Dress runs in the family - my Grandmother is a costumier (she makes most of our hire costumes) and she ran fancy dress hire shops across the country in the 70's and 80's so it was a huge part of my life anyway. Seemed like a natural step and I love it (much more than what I was doing before, easily!).

Thought Bill's idea of sharing a pic was quite a good one, so here's a pic of me too.

Help / How to send a private message on this forum
« Last post by Admin on September 21, 2013, 12:50:55 pm »
There is a private message function on this forum, enabling members to drop a quick message (like an email) to other members.

Primarily, this is useful for contacting the Administrator or any moderators of the forum regarding any issues, but it's obviously useful too for private discussions between members.

This is a step by step guide on how to use this feature.

1) Hover your mouse over the 'My Messages' button at the top of the page (see image below for example of this)

2) Click on 'Send a Message' - this will take you straight to compose a message (see image below).
3) In the 'To' area, start to type the name of the member you would like to send the message to (you can add more than one member). As you type, that member name will appear in a box below (see image below for example). Click on the correct member name as it appears below, and that member will be selected.

4) Write your message and send as you would do a normal email.

From the 'My Messages' area you can also view your own inbox, send messages, search through your inbox and also change the settings.

If you click on 'Change Settings' you can choose how you are notified when you receive a new message (you can set it to 'pop-up' on screen for example) to your inbox, who is allowed to send you messages, and more.

Help / Tip on reading posts
« Last post by Bill on September 21, 2013, 12:37:32 pm »
The first time you read the forum, you might be overwhelmed by how many posts there are.  Just spend a couple of minutes looking - open each section in turn.

Then, next time you log in, click on 'Show unread posts since last visit', just under the 'Hello' at the top.  You'll only see posts you haven't seen before, which makes it a lot easier.

You can still see older posts by going to the relevant section.
